dare to be different

{Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.}

the pursuit of happiness

{Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a Voice behind you saying, 'This is the way; walk in it'} - Isaiah 30:21

Do you ever get the feeling that you don't deserve to be happy? You start focusing so much on the negatives that you forget to find rest in the peacefulness of sweet, small things. You feel like your sin and dirt, past and secrets are all bundled up inside, tucked & hidden away so no one will discover who you truly are. It's so hard to feel true joy when those burdens are evident and guilt keeps creeping into your mind. But, this is when I remind myself that I am a child of God. A forgiving, gracious, humble, sweet Lord who has unconditional love for me and casts my sins into the sea (Micah 7:19). He is SO loving and just wants me to run toward him with my fear and anxiety. My peace and happiness will be found in him.

I read this from another blog and I love how it depicts God's immesurable grace:
"On this day, God wants you to know that you deserve happiness just because. There is nothing you need to do to deserve happiness. There are no 'minimal requirements' for you to fulfill before you can claim happiness. You deserve happiness simply by virtue of having been born. That's it. Nothing more is required. Be happy."

Sweet nothings

{Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her} - Ephesians 5:25

When I'm 80, I want you to love me like we're still 18. The way you look, listen, and completely understand me. I want that chase to never be compromised for a half pursuit. No matter how many wrinkles I acquire or silly words Ill speak,  I want to know that your love is true and pure and sweet. That unconditional gift of forgiveness and understanding will amaze me & you will never fail to surprise me. You'll take me from behind and whisper in my ear how much you care for me. The little things and sweet nothing's will mean the world to me. Ill never be able to thank you enough for the thousands of smiles you've given me. And the best part of this fairytale is that I know our children will have an amazing role model to look up to.

I cannot wait for the day my soulmate 'woos' me over.

{Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.} - 1 Corinthians 13:12

a mountain escape

{Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.} - Philippians 3:12-14

This weekend, my family traveled to App State to see the Chris Lane Band & the Band Perry perform. Let me just say, my life is now complete! They both did such an amazing job, put on an amazing show, and sang my two favorite songs..what more could a girl ask for! We were able to get about 2 rows from the stage and getting to see Kimberly Perry that close & personal...wow. She is so beautiful. Both of the bands did a great job mixing old and new songs in with their music, allowing the crowd to get more involved. I loved the message that Kimberly gave before singing their title track "Pioneer." She said that no matter how dark, & cloudy things may get, we are the pioneers in our own lives and we have the power to get up and keep going. There is so much power within us {especially with the help of Christ} to be those role models, pursuers, and dreamers. Also, I absolutely LOVED one of their new songs "I'm a Keeper." Check it out, along with pictures from my weekend, below!
