spring into sweetness

{I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.} - Psalm 89:1

Spring break has finally began!  A week full of rest, catching up on homework, and pigging out will be enjoyed. I also will be uploading a post about the 30 hour famine soon. I really want to share with ya'll my experience and  how much I learned about my personal faith. I hope your excited as I am!

On to today's topic, I wanted to focus on my new "resolution." As of late, I keep having this conviction like I'm not being the best person I could be, not living my life for God to the fullest, and ruining my testimony.  I get so caught up in the secular society that I forget my real purpose on this earth.  I've been too worried about my failing love life, grades, and climbing the ladder of success.  I need a wake up call! During the 30 hour famine, this is exactly what happened.  While completing our individual devotions, I found that God was trying to speak to me through scripture.  He led me to read a portion that focused on one's actions.  It really showed me that in everything I do, I need to do it for God. I want this kind of praising attitude to shine through to others Him be known. I want to be known for living my life for God and letting my sweetness spring to action!

pondering preparation

{For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
- Jeremiah 29:11

You're everything I need when I fall on my knees,
the love you have for me is not worthy of my deeds.
Why do I question, worry, or fear? Because God, you are here.
I don't know your plans, but I will follow your leading hand.
You're everything I need when I fall on my knees,
so i will turn the key to the doors you are opening for me.

quick updates

{For with God nothing is impossible.} - Luke 1:37

First off, I wanted to begin by saying that I'm sorry for the lack of posts in the past month...its been super hectic!  Between school, DECA, HOSA, and the other clubs i'm associated with, its just been crazy.  However, cheerleading has just ended so this will free up some of my time that I can now devote to the blog!

So on to more good news, this weekend my team won the Canam Cheer Nationals for the third year in a row!!  I can honestly say this year has been tough; we've had to work harder than we ever have before.  I'm so proud of us coming together as a true team in last practices. This competition showed each and every one of us that when we put our faith in God, everything falls into place.  I loved experiencing the rush and excitement like it was my first competition all over again.  I can't wait to go back for my final year and hopefully have an undefeated season once more.

Here are a few photos of the competition...I'll be posting more photos soon :)

(Sorry for the blurriness on some pictures!)

i'm back!

{The Lord will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.} - Psalm 121:7-8

It feels so good to be back in the comfort of my home!  I had a great trip and I gained a lot of valuable information while I was there.

Our trip consisted of 13 people and we attended the DECA state competition.  For those wondering what DECA is, it is a marketing club that allows students to attend competitions and test their skills against others.  It is nationally recognized  and supported through seminars and events.  A few sponsors include Target , Foot Locker, etc.  We had so much fun and all of us earned proficiency in our events.  There are 6 of us that could attend nationals because we placed top 10 (that's me!  I placed 5th in my event!).

Here are a few pics I took over the weekend! Enjoy!
